This week has been very busy getting ready for my trip to Ohio for AFIC (Artistic Figures in Cloth). I have two softcloth doll bodies to get done in 2 weeks, I know that sounds like enough time, but for me a year wouldn't be enough. I don't manage my time properly, especially because my baby is very attached to me. This week she has been sick.  I took her to the Dr. on Thursday and he said it was a stomach virus but it was almost over, today hasn't been any better. The only days I get any time for myself is Tuesdays and Fridays when Camilla's sitter and playdate come by, but by then I usually have a hundred errands to run.

One Saturday, we went to Hallmark to buy a gift for a newborn, our neighbors daughter had a baby boy and my hubby surprised me by buying me a beautiful teacup for my morning tea.

Isn't it just gorgeous?  Well I have two dolls I  need to be working on.  I also have a purse to get started on.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Since my third child (Camilla) was born I have been looking for a pattern for a cloche hat either to buy or to make, grant you I am not a seasoned knitter or crocheter.  I took some classes a few years back and made a few small projects.  I found the best cloche hat pattern at www.aestheticnest.com it is  easy, especially for a seasoned person in the art of crochet.  I must admit I started and redid it about three times, but in the end I think it worked out.

She liked it just as much as I did.  I will start a blue one tomorrow.  My older daughter (Giselle) and sister have asked me to make one for them.  Thank you Annaliese for the great tutorial and pattern.

I came down with the flu and was sick for about two weeks, that was after I took care of all the kids. I made my first project with the fabrics I bought at my local quilt store sale. I made an apron, I love the fabric I picked it is Bliss by Moda. Here is a picture.

I will start working on a purse pattern that I also bought the fabric for, will show a picture when that is finished.

Happy New Year! This is officially my first post for 2011, trying to keep one of my resolutions for the year of more posts.
It seems this year started out with more things to do than expected. Have been extremely busy. Mr. Whimsy decided the week of Thanksgiving that it was finally time to remodel our very outdated and disfunctional kitchen, at the same time he decided he was going to build a family room also. So, we have been with out a kitchen and half of our living area.
Another of my resolutions for this year was to make more of the patterns I already own with my current stash. I had a pattern for this cute pincushion with a bag (Abbey Pattern). I finally made it and didn't it turn out cute (the best thing is I didn't have to buy anything).

I couldn't keep the resolution forever on Saturday my local quilt store Candy's Quiltworks had their annual sale.  I picked out five of my patterns that I had been wanting to make but didn't have enough fabric and bought the fabric for the five projects, this should hold me over for at least 2 to 3 months.  I am very happy with my choices of fabric.  I will make an apron, two patterns by Lynette Lymer (Cinderberry Stitches), a purse and a stitchery kit bag set by Bareroots.

That is all for tonight  I will post pictures as I work on the projects and finish them.

Weekend Happenings
This past weekend, I went dollmaking, it was a lot of fun. One of the best classes I have taken so far. It was with Ute Vasina we made "Peter the Pack Rat", she is a fabulous teacher and also a member of my doll club. She is very patient. Here is a couple of pictures of the doll . I have not yet completed him sew the arms and legs in place, put his hair and voila he'll be sooo cute.

We also made this shoes for the Troll, they were so much fun to make.

I have also started working on two crazy quilt block (Steampunk and Tea Time) for  round robins that joined.  Hopefully this weekend gives me more time to work on the Troll so that he can finally be finished.

Hello another busy day.  I can now post the pincushion I made for the pincushion swap over at "During Quiet Time blog".  My partner was Carol from Wisconsin. Carol made me a green with multicolor petals It was a fun swap.  I would like to do it again next year if she hosts again.

I am working on a small quilt sample for a beginning class.  I have all the fabric cut and some of the blocks pieced and ready to go.  That will come later.

This weekend was my birthday and I made a commitment to post more frequently.  After, having some kind of bug for the last two weeks, On Wednesday I felt like a train had hit me and on Thursday evening I started to feel better.  The weekend started on Friday for us.  Mr. SW took the family out to dinner.  Saturday,  was my Birthday and Mr. SW took me shopping to pick out my own present, I was overwhelmed and ended up buying nothing, after shopping we went to Sushi to celebrate.  The kids bought a small cake with all the candles the cake almost looks like its on fire.

On Sunday we had planned to go to the Los Angeles County Fair.  That was  a lot of fun, but it was hot.  The fair was crowded.  The Mr. bought me a bicycle at the fair.  The Mr. and the girls rode on an elephant, man there goes our safari trip.

On Monday Labor Day I finally had some down time and worked on an overdue project.  I  am still not feeling that great.  I have a few more days to get caught up with my projects.  My daughter started the fourth grade today.
